Now Available At Hors Catégorie: Summer and Winter Caps and Wintry Thoughts

Just in!

We are very proud and excited our cycling caps are now available from Hors Catégorie in Montréal!

Co-owner of the Montréal cycle shop, Fred Landry, posted this wonderful photo our new crop of Summer and Winter cycling caps.

After I tweeted with him, I'm happy to discover that our winter caps will also do double duty as X-country ski caps! Now, why didn't we think of that? So, with that in mind let's go further...

Carolle lived in Montréal, years ago, and she wished she had a winter cap on to walk her dog, Amy, in wintry Parc Lafontaine. I can attest to that, having lived in Montréal and endured their rather cold winters. I remember laboriously shoveling my stranded car out from 6 ft high snow bank. I must admit I never encountered that much snow growing up in Edmonton. A winter cap like ours, would've worked very well indeed.

If you live in or around Montréal, or plan on visiting that beautiful city, then go and say hi to the friendly staff of Hors Catégorie and buy one of our cycling caps that can be use for X-country skiing, walking your dog or just hanging out in!

Viva la Corsa Rosa on Italian Cycling Journal

Viva la Corsa Rosa
Red Dots Cycling

Thank you to Italian Cycling Journal for a fantastic review on our Viva la Corsa Rosa and L'Enfer du Nord cap. Angelo writes passionately of Italian cycling and we have a soft spot of all things Italian too.

We made our Viva la Corsa Rosa to celebrate the Giro with a flourish of pink and the Italian tricolor finishing it off with Italian dots!

Thanks Angelo!

TGIF: Thinker by Road Holland & Vive la Francaise!

Courtesy RoadHolland

We're very happy to collaborate...

Sharing ideas with like minded folks like Jonathan co-owner of Road Holland. Makers of superb, classic design cycling jerseys, made in Florida. Last July (Tour de France time), Jonathan contacted me of our Le Tour 100 cycling cap and I was more than happy to send him one. That's the image of Jonathan looking like the 'Thinker' with our Le Tour 100 cycling cap. We love the pose, the jersey and our cycling cap.

Our Le Tour 100 cycling cap is a limited edition cap with our own designed and produced embroidery - on sale while quantities last!

French Revolution...

Our love for linen/cotton holds no bounds. Linen is an amazing fabric; lightweight, breathable, anti-bacterial, wicks moisture rapidly, will keep you cool when it's hot and warm when it's cold. We are working on a new production of La Francaise, made from linen/cotton due out soon.

Fall in with Warm Caps

Red Hunting winter cycling cap...
beware you may get the hankering to chop wood
or go hunting!
photo Red Dots Cycling

This morning, a customer asked us...

This is not the first time, many customers have asked us to produce a wool cap without earflaps. We responded with the new Fall caps: Flemish Fall and Presta Fall. I have tested the Flemish Fall wool cap and it breathes and keeps me warm when the temps hover close to the single digits. The Flemish Fall works for me, for when it's not too cold to switch to the winter cap.

If you like to have that extra protection around the ears and upper neck - then go with the full winter cap with earflap because winter is around the corner.

So, we have you covered - new Fall caps for when it gets chilly and full winter caps when it gets downright cold!

TGIF: We Support Caps Not Hats

Thanks to Bill Strickland.

Carolle and I embrace and support the CapsNotHats movement. Not only making cycling caps stir our passion for cycling we believe that cycling caps should replace the baseball hat on the podium. And, baseball hats should belong in baseball. It would be odd if baseball players started to wear cycling caps.

If there's any proof that cycling caps are making a comeback look no further to the Tour de France and we thank Omega Pharma for giving the cycling cap due respect!

Chapeau to...

Embrace these winter favorites!
photos Red Dots Cycling

Today is a great day to announce the new crop of Fall and Winter cycling caps!

We're always little more excited and proud when we introduce new and improved caps, so here are six cycling caps for September. We are now carrying two new Fall cycling caps - you may recognize them from the past- the Flemish Fall and Presta Fall caps. We love them and we think you will too! Both made from 100% wool and comfortable to wear almost all year round.

And that's not all! We have new fabric on our working table ready to cut and that means we plan to release two newer cycling caps very soon!

We love our new Fall caps!
