Falling for Mont Royal Cycling Cap!

As Fall is now upon us and a certain change in weather has started, we look to one of our favorite cites and race; the Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal for inspiration. Specifically the iconic climb on the beautiful Mont Royal. Fall means cooler temperatures and we design this handmade cycling cap to suit that need. Made from pre-washed 100% woven, soft light wool with colors of grey, blue and a hint of rust. Also, we pre-wash a 100% cotton wicking band to absorb moisture. And, we made this cap to fit comfortably under a helmet for that important warm layering.  Note; fashionably made to wear off the bike... just to chill in.

We have been very busy with custom cap orders, in fact, Spring and Summer has been especially busy. Over the next few Friday's we will be proudly showing some of our recent custom cap designs. Let's get started; (from left to right), Road Holland, centenario Bartali & Café Roubaix.

Winter Caps: We have started to re-stock our favorites... L'Enfer du Nord, Black Sheep and Red Hunting winter caps. 

One of our favorite seasons is Fall and we are in production of our newest Fall cycling cap. It's perfect for wearing it on your rides in between summer and winter. That doesn't mean that you can't wear it all year round. Fall days are not quite cold enough for a winter cap with ear flap. So, we created our Fall cap in wool without the ear flap. It will be out very soon.

Computer technology works wonderfully until something goes wrong.

We just noticed our email re-direction was down. So, we've been receiving some mail and missed quite a few. Our online business is via email and we believe a third of our email bounced back to the recipients without our knowledge. Saving Our Red Hunting Winter Cap

We want to start the upcoming winter cycling season by re-introducing our popular Red Hunting Winter Cycling Cap. Unfortunately, sometimes things happen... 

As we started to assemble the caps we discovered that the sizing seem different. This batch is smaller than usual. These caps wouldn't fit within our regular sizing chart. We did not want to discard these caps, and not knowing whether we can find this fabric from our supplier again, we decided to offer it in two new sizes.

For this cap only, this new batch of Red Hunting caps is now offered in two sizes: Small (21-22") and Medium (22-23").

The Merits of Linen/cotton

Yesterday, on my Sunday ride the weather hovered around (30C). The hot spell continues here in the lower mainland. And I always have a Red Dots cycling cap.

Many of our 3-season caps are made from linen cotton. We also use cotton and wool but love linen/cotton for it's natural characteristics. Linen is very absorbent, it basically pulls moisture away off the body and keeps you dryer. It's also lightweight, breathable & antibacterial. And you don't have to worry about shrinkage, we pre-wash our fabric. Chapeau to linen/cotton our favorite and hard working fabric!

Sometimes good and not so good things happen, we are happy to solve our recent delay issues and get back to good news to launch our new cycling cap... The Grand Départ!

The Tour de France is mightily huge and French riders are excitingly challenging for the podium.  Our French tribute has two versions; Version 1; French royal blue linen/cotton, full yellow ribbon, embroidered 'rd' with yellow dots (influenced by the yellow jersey) and a bold handmade French tricolor ribbon. Version 2; Everything the same as version 1, we decided to go for a retro look with a full vintage white ribbon.

During the last few weeks, we are reminded  - you have to go with the flow.

Our fabric shipment was delayed along with equipment breakdowns and yet amazingly still we pulled out most of our custom orders. Meanwhile our restocking of our regular caps have suffered. And, the launched of our new cap has been delayed. Yes it's work in progress...
