First Look: Raiment Cycling Clothing

all photos Red Dots Cycling

Yesterday, I decided to see our cycling caps, now available at the new Raiment Cycling Clothing (247 W. Broadway, Vancouver).

I walked into the new location about 4-times the size of the old shop formerly at Musette Caffe, and saw our well displayed cycling caps.

Our summer/fall/winter caps...

Raiment is on busy W. Broadway and I believe it has the right cycling exposure front and center next to their  headquarters, La Bicicletta Pro Shop.

I had a nice chat with the friendly clerk and I'm proud to hear that our caps are both admired for their design and the importance they are locally produced. The same words echoed to me by owner, Kevin.

Next door to La Bicicletta Pro Shop...

I invite you to go visit Raiment Cycling Clothing and try on one of our Summer/Fall/Winter cycling caps - you'll want to add a few to your cycling kit.

A footnote: After my visit to Raiment I immediately posted on our Facebook page and shortly afterwards Chris posted, 'Just came in and picked up a winter cap. Cozy!'

Thanks and enjoy your winter cap Chris!

A huge wall size Fausto warmly greets you!

Richard

Now Available At Hors Catégorie: Summer and Winter Caps and Wintry Thoughts

Just in!

We are very proud and excited our cycling caps are now available from Hors Catégorie in Montréal!

Co-owner of the Montréal cycle shop, Fred Landry, posted this wonderful photo our new crop of Summer and Winter cycling caps.

After I tweeted with him, I'm happy to discover that our winter caps will also do double duty as X-country ski caps! Now, why didn't we think of that? So, with that in mind let's go further...

Carolle lived in Montréal, years ago, and she wished she had a winter cap on to walk her dog, Amy, in wintry Parc Lafontaine. I can attest to that, having lived in Montréal and endured their rather cold winters. I remember laboriously shoveling my stranded car out from 6 ft high snow bank. I must admit I never encountered that much snow growing up in Edmonton. A winter cap like ours, would've worked very well indeed.

If you live in or around Montréal, or plan on visiting that beautiful city, then go and say hi to the friendly staff of Hors Catégorie and buy one of our cycling caps that can be use for X-country skiing, walking your dog or just hanging out in!

TGIF: Maillot a pois rouges, Winter Cap Update & Hors Catégorie

KoMs Pierre Rolland

That's Pierre Rolland signing jerseys during the 2013 Tour de France, the sun's rays blocked his face but we know who he is.

Our next two new winter caps are almost complete. After a short delay, we're planning the photo shoot this weekend and a launch early next week!

Our friend, Fred Landry co-owner of Hors Catégorie is selling some of our caps sent us this email today...

Hors Catégorie

We are very happy our cycling caps are a smashing hit in Montréal. I did some research and Fred and his group will tackle the fun and challenging Les défis du Parc de la Mauricie this weekend. It sounds like our Red Dots caps will be well represented... we can't wait for the pics Fred & Co - Have fun!

Chapeau Hors Catégorie!

Grand Tour a porter...
La Francaise, Viva La Corsa Rosa & Vuelta El Toro!
via horscatégorie

It's heartwarming that our cycling caps are now offered at Hors Catégorie in Montréal.

Carolle is originally from Sept-îles and lived many years in Montréal. We both momentarily lived in the Plateau Mont Royal and my Marinoni was made in Terrebonne, so it's like 'full-circle' for us.

Hors Catégorie is a bike boutique store. I haven't been there... yet.

From what I can gather from their website, they offer custom bike fitting and service, high quality products - embracing the passion for cycling. We wholeheartedly share in the same passion for cycling.

A short while ago, Fred Landry contacted us in search of high quality cycling caps and accessories -made in Canada. Through the power of the Internet, we made a connection. Is it coincidence that Red Dots Cycling is similar with Hors Catégorie?

Chapeau!

Richard

TGIF: A Glimpse of the Polka Dots, Strada Cycles, Winter in Summer & a Special 18

Looking back...
Polka Dots Cycling Cap
photo Red Dots Cycling

Yesterday, a funny thing happened on the way to the opening of Strada Cycles...

On our way down Pender Street, we had a double-take and saw a bike messenger wearing our first generation Polka Dots Cycling Cap! We couldn't believe it, so much so, we didn't have time to take a picture. It was sure nice to see it again. Unfortunately, this fabric is so difficult to find and, yes, we have never given up on the hunt for the elusive red dots.

We had a nice time at Strada Cycles, at their new location and we would like to thank Joey-Lee and Jason for inviting us. Check out my Cyclingart Blog for photos of the opening.

It's about 30C in our studio and we are making winter cycling caps!

Hard to believe it, in the heat of the Summer-we are making winter caps for a special order. Having two fans going makes it bearable to work in. Causing us to work slowly and thinking of air-conditioning!

This Sunday, Carolle and I will be celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary! So, we will set some time aside ...  that means no work and celebrate our special day!

New: Light Linen Cycling Cap for Seven Cycles

Light Linen Cycling Cap for Seven Cycles.
Courtesy: sevencycles

The Summer is coming and Carolle and I are excited to make the newest cycling cap for Seven Cycles called, Light Linen Cycling Cap.

We describe the cap as understated cool-made of linen/cotton; lightweight, breathable, anti-bacterial, wicks moisture rapidly, will keep you cool when it's hot and warm when it's cold. It's available in two sizes: Small/Medium and Medium/Large.

It's always fun to design new cycling caps for Seven Cycles. We made the caps and Seven Cycles took care of the embroidery.

We are proud to work closely with Seven Cycles to help make this attractive and practical cycling cap for all of your rides!

Cool Blue for Ride Studio Cafe

Looking cool blue
via facebook.com/ridestudiocafe

Here's our latest custom cycling caps made exclusively for Ride Studio Cafe of Lexington, MA.

We have made the black cap in the past, and they liked it so much they ordered more. It's a classic. Ride Studio Cafe has been one of our long term clients now and their logo is a beautiful teal blue. It's hard to match this color, and it's a challenge to find it.

Last year, we first discovered this fabric by chance, whilst shopping for winter fabric. The teal blue is so beautiful we decided to buy it. We bought the remaining amount of fabric from the store in the hope of using it for a cycling cap. It's made of linen/cotton. So, when RSC contacted us for a blue cycling cap, well we had it and pitched it to them and they ordered it.

You know when things are aligned so right... it works. The new cycling cap looks so fine!

Custom Brits Wool Winter Caps at Ride Studio Cafe

Ariela stylin' the custom Brits wool winter cap,
Lexington, MA
courtesy: Ride Studio Cafe

Our famous Brits wool winter cap has been chosen as a custom cap.

Ride Studio Cafe of Lexington, Massachusetts is our client that requested a Brits winter cap with a black stripe. Yesterday, they received their custom Brits caps appropriately in snowy Lexington. As you remember our Brits winter cap, made from 100% British Superfine Wool, was made famous and featured in the November/2012 issue of Bicycling Magazine. A proud moment for us.

We are happy and sad. Our fantastic supplier had enough fabric for us to make this small run. We bought up the remaining fabric and have a very small supply of original Brits currently on our website

There's already good response from Ride Studio Cafe...

We really like these new hats!

Thank you!

We thought our Brits winter cap was our finest cap, but we can already predict the new Presta winter cycling cap will surpass it. Why? The superior quality of the wool, it's an understated black/gray... so check it out!
