KoMs: Purito and Bardet

Purito: Champion climber...

Stage 18 was an incredible performance by Romain Bardet soloing to victory. His descending skills match his climbing skills as the Frenchman went over the Col du Glandon and the Lacets de Montvernier. After the stage Purito Rodriguez and Romain Bardet are both tie in the KoMs classification. Rodriguez will wear the Polka Dot jersey as he has won more HC climbs than Bardet.

Bardet: Champion climber and descending genius.

Channeling my inner Virenque

Yesterday our FRFuggitivi group embraced (or at least I tried to) the climb up Mt. Seymour (elevation: 1000 metres, length: 13km). It's our own storming of the Bastille Day climb in honor of tomorrow's mountains in Le Tour de France. To us, mountains mean Mt. Seymour a long savage climb and it was good reason to ride with French theme kits. I channeled my inner Virenque wearing the new King of the Mountains cap brim up to show our flashy polka dots. I'm not a climber and my struggle up was anything but flashy however I comfortably rode in the auto bus with Mario enjoying our conversations watching the kilometers signs tick by.

New: King of the Mountains... show your dots!

King of the Mountains cycling cap
via Red Dots Cycling

We have been working on trying to secure the right polka dot fabric and it hasn't been fruitful. Carolle and I decided to use our trusty embroidery machine to produce our own red dots design. And we couldn't be happier... introducing our new King of the Mountains cycling cap!

It's no surprise our new KoMs cap launch coincides with the 2015 Tour de France notably celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Maillot a pois rouges - the polka dot jersey.

Made from pre-washed navy blue linen/cotton for a cycling cap that is comfortable, breathable, anti-bacterial and wicks moisture rapidly. The sporty French tricolor ribbon is handmade. Embroidered red dots under brim makes a classic look you can show when you feel like it, we thought one would like the choice to show your dots.

We're very happy to finish the KoMs before Bastille Day (July 14) coexisting with the first mountain stage: Tarbes - La Pierre Saint-Martin stage 10.

Available in size: S/M and M/L here and also enjoy limited free shipping.

Vive le King of the Mountains!

Belgian climbing ace, Lucien Van Impe was the first to wear the polka dot jersey in 1975.
He won two stages and went on to win the KoMs classification.
